1. Know what the host country deems as proper clothing for teaching. This will help you command the respect and get the attention of your students in a good way. You need to do your research.
2. Be keen on learning the local language. This will help you discover how their dialect might hinder them from learning. Moreover, you would also learn some topics that would be of interest to the students such as what you will see on TV or in newspapers.
3. Assess your students constantly. This will help you discover what your students are interested in. You should also inform them about the progress that you are making.
4. Test the level of understanding in the students. Give them an exam regularly.
